Richard Kallman

Mr. Kallman is an Environmental Protection Specialist for the City of Santa Fe Springs Department of Fire-Rescue. He is responsible for implementation of the federal and state mandated Accidental Release Prevention Program within the City and inspects facilities for compliance with all the Certified Unified Program Agency (CUPA) regulated programs. He is a state certified hazardous material specialist which allows him to respond to hazardous materials emergencies as part of a hazardous materials response team.

Mr. Kallman obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at San Diego in 1984 and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 1991. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of California. He worked in materials research and development for Northrop Corporation prior to joining the Fire Service in 1993. He has served as co-chair of the Region 1 Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) Administering Agency Subcommittee and was vice-chair of the International Code Council (ICC) ad-hoc committee on hydrogen gas from August of 2000 to September of 2003. He previously served as Chair of the Hydrogen Safety Panel.
