The purpose of the future standard is to harmonise methods of calculation of rated power and power density of a PEM stack and PEM module. It applies to fuel cell stacks/modules with PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) technology only.

An appliance employing materials or having forms of construction differing from those detailed in the requirements of this document can be examined and tested according to the purpose of these requirements and, if found substantially equivalent, can be considered to comply with this document.
This document provides performance test methods specialized for the thermal and electrical characteristics which are required by an energy management system to effectively share the heat and power of networked small stationary fuel cell power systems. These test methods are applied for each small stationary fuel cell power system.
