Abstract

There is little guidance in place for secondary blast effects for offshore installations. In this paper, the origin of drag loading due to blast is explained, including the different nature of loading that could be expected for a range of explosion scenarios. The drag forces on pipe work, pipe supports grated decks and equipment are discussed. Methods on how to calculate these forces are described. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
