This standard describes the energy efficiency on stationary fuel cell power systems for residential applications calculating based on the energy consuming pattern at 11 energy consuming hours/day, such as 15 drive mode for a vehicles) at a typical Japanese house.
This is for measuring energy consumption under operating modes including startup and shutdown, and the operating modes and operating patterns can be defined by the manufacturer. The JIS specifies operating patterns incorporating 11 operating modes including rated operation and startup/shutdown, allowing different systems evaluated under the same conditions. Manufacturers are able to provide performance data on their catalogues backed up by the standard (JIS 8851 can be referenced). The measuring method in the standard is based on that in JEM 1490.
