This document defines the design, safety and operation characteristics of gaseous hydrogen land vehicle (GHLV) refueling connectors.
GHLV refueling connectors consist of the following components, as applicable: (a) receptacle and protective cap (mounted on vehicle); (b) nozzle; and (c) communication hardware.
This document is applicable to refueling connectors which have nominal working pressures or hydrogen service levels up to 70 MPa.
This document is not applicable to refueling connectors dispensing blends of hydrogen with natural gas.
For the next edition ISO/TC 197 agreed to create a multipart series, the new titles will be Gaseous Hydrogen Land Vehicle Refueling Connection Devices – Part 1: Flow capacities up to and including 120 g/s (currently in the FDIS phase). Part 2: Flow capacities greater than 120 g/s(currently in the CD phase). Part 3: Cryo-compressed hydrogen gas (a working group has prepared a draft).
Third edition published in 2020.
