HySCAN
Visit HySCAN to learn more about the Hydrogen Codes and Standards Database.
The Hydrogen Safety Codes and Standards Applicability Navigator (HySCAN) is an online tool developed by hydrogen safety experts in the United States. Its purpose is to assist users in identifying hydrogen-specific codes and standard documents that are relevant to their systems. By asking a series of simple questions, HySCAN makes it easier for developers, engineers, and approval authorities to understand which code and standard sections apply to hydrogen systems. In this early release, the tool includes a portion of NFPA 2 and documents that are directly referenced by NFPA 2. HySCAN is intended for public use. It was jointly developed by Sandia National Laboratories (Sandia), National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and operated and maintained by PNNL, with funding from the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) under the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office (HFTO).
