HySCAN Notice

HySCAN was developed by U.S. safety experts to identify hydrogen-specific codes and standards documents for a given system. The list of included documents is not exhaustive. It is presently limited to NFPA 2 and a few codes and standards directly references by NFPA 2.

HySCAN does not provide specific requirements. Instead, it focuses on the applicability and scope of codes and standards, and aims to facilitated informed discussions by highlighting the relevant chapters therein. The full text of the codes sand standards might be copyrighted and may be purchased from the issuing organization.

The initial version of the tool is tailored to U.S. stakeholders. It considers stated applicability and scope, not legal or regulatory requirements.

Feedback is welcome for future expansions, including additional system types, documents, and jurisdictions.

HySCAN emphasizes a prescriptive based approach to requirements, but some jurisdictions may allow a performance-based approach.
