Internationalization issues and a workaround

Workaround for HyRAM Internationalization Bug:

There are issues running HyRAM on computers in other countries, specifically where ',' and '.' are used in ways different from how they are used in the USA. Our apologies for missing this issue. You will quickly discover the problem if it exists. The error window will contain text similar to "SyntaxError: invalid token" or "TypeError: unsupported operand type(s) for /: 'tuple' and 'float'."  These problems will be fixed in future releases.

There is a way to get your computer to run HyRAM while waiting for the next release, if you would like to try it.

1) Open Control Panel
2) Select Region and Language
3) In the Format combo box, select "English (United States)"

If you find that you continue having problems, after switching to American English, it may be that your American English settings have been modified in such a way that they still conflict with the Python code underlying HyRAM.  In that case, you might need to reset them.

Resetting American English dialog:

1) Open Control Panel
2) Select Region and Language
3) In the Format combo box, select "English (United States)"
4) Press the "Additional settings..." button.
5) In the Additional Settings dialog, click the Reset button.
